One of the most important takeaways from this article is that the total value that the Internet provides to us is huge. These ad-supported services aren’t just “free”, they give a lot to us as well. I also disagree with the notion that Twitter is distracting us. I’m sure that for many, Twitter is considered a waste of time. For myself, that’s probably true some days. However, the value that Twitter offers is unmatched by the other social networks right now, even though I also use them regularly.Twitter is where I discover news, track events, and find out what many people I admire are doing at the moment. It is extremely difficult to quantify how much it’d be worth, but I’m glad I don’t have to worry about that.
